profesoraHello everyone! My name is Rachel Shapiro and I am the English Language Assistant at Colegio Bajo Aragón-Marianistas this year. I am from Baltimore, Maryland in the United States, a city about an hour away from Washington, DC. I am 22 years old. I attended Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts. I studied American Studies, with a focus on Issues in U.S. Education. I graduated this past May and I plan to return to school next year to earn my Masters in Teaching. I want to be a high school history teacher. I am so excited to be spending this year in Zaragoza. So far, it seems to be a wonderful place. I am looking forward to exploring the city and taking advantage of all that it has to offer over the next 8 months. It is my first time in this city, but not my first time in Spain. In 2013, I studied in Sevilla for 5 months. During that time, I had the opportunity to travel a bit, visiting Córdoba, Granada, Cádiz, Madrid, Toledo, Bilbao, and San Sebastián. This year, I hope to travel to many more places around the country. I am especially excited to be working at this amazing school. From the moment I arrived, everyone has been so welcoming and friendly. Both the teachers and the students seem so happy to be here and eager to teach and learn. I am so glad to be joining this wonderful community. I hope to meet as many members of this community as possible during my time here. Please introduce yourself to me …and be patient with me if I forget your name at first (I have a lot to remember)!
